Stella McCartney has been accused of putting otters at risk through her plans for a £5 million mansion on the west coast of Scotland. Locals opposed to the fashion designer’s proposals secretly installed camera traps near the secluded Commando Rock in Glenuig. The application to build a modernist property on the site, which was lodged last year and drawn up by the architects Brown & Brown, has been put forward in the name of McCartney’s husband, Alasdhair Willis.
However, the plans have been met with criticisms from locals and wildlife experts. McCartney previously hired conservationists in an attempt to prove there were no otters in the surrounding area as part of the planning application. Locals have now revealed that they installed animal trap cameras and filmed otters and pine martens in the area.
