RNLI crews have urged people to take care at a popular air show after they saved a child's life. Eastbourne RNLI, which attends Airbourne in Eastbourne each year in case people need help, said they were called into action last year after a child was in difficulty in the water during the air show. The volunteers rescued the child and ultimately saved their life.

People are advised to stick to lifeguard beaches only, keep an eye on weather conditions and tide times, and to avoid using inflatables that are not designed for the sea. A spokesman for Eastbourne RNLI said: "If you were at Eastbourne Airbourne yesterday, you may have seen both our lifeboats and our volunteer crew members out at sea conducting training exercises.

"Last year, the crew on our inshore lifeboat were called into action to assist beach lifeguards with a child in difficulty in the water during the show. They were credited with a life saved.
