Scheduled payments from DWP and HMRC due on Monday, August 26 may be affected. The next bank holiday takes place on August 26 which means some people will receive their scheduled State Pension or benefit payment early. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has already published updated payment date details for Tax Credits, Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance, while the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is expected to announce similar changes soon.

Scheduled payments from HMRC due on Monday, August 26 will arrive in bank accounts on Friday, August 23. The bank holiday is only being observed in England and Wales, so there are no planned changes to any payments delivered by Social Security Scotland . DWP is expected to confirm changes to State Pension and benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) later this week.

This is because on recognised bank holidays payments are typically made when offices and phone lines are open, which is usually the first working day prior to the affected date. Payments from HMRC due to be made on August 26 may arrive early for some people. A full list of Tax Credit payment date changes can be found on GOV.

UK here. A full list of Child Benefit payment date changes can be found on GOV.UK here.

These have not been confirmed, but expected to follow the same changes as those being made by HMRC for the August 26 bank holiday only, we will update this article as soon as any changes have been .
