Monday, November 11, 2024 Star Air unveils a transformative 25-aircraft expansion, enhancing connectivity across India’s Tier 2 and 3 cities, supporting affordable regional air travel. BENGALURU, INDIA – Star Air, the aviation division of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), is set for a substantial fleet expansion, aiming to reach a 25-aircraft target within the next 36 months. In line with this ambitious growth plan, Star Air will add two E175 aircraft to its fleet in the current fiscal year (FY25), with plans for four additional aircraft in FY26.
This expansion underscores Star Air’s dedication to “Connecting Real India” by improving air travel accessibility for underserved areas and supporting the Indian Government’s UDAN initiative, which promotes affordable air travel for all. Currently, Star Air operates a fleet of nine aircraft, including four Embraer E175s and five Embraer E145s. The incoming E175s will boost Star Air’s capacity and operational efficiency, enabling the airline to enhance service on current routes and expand into new ones, particularly across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Known for their fuel efficiency and passenger-friendly design, the E175s are well-aligned with Star Air’s mission to provide seamless, comfortable travel experiences throughout India. Since its launch in 2019, Star Air has flown over 1.3 million passengers across 21 destinations, establishing accessible, affordable, and dependable air travel options in Karnataka, Andhra Prade.
