SPRINGFIELD — With Springfield Fashion Week now underway, the city’s own international fashion designer and tailor, Justin Haynes, is set to take a global stage. This season, Haynes’s collections, under his JUS10H label, will be featured in fashion events in New York and Paris. Haynes also will present new designs to the Tokyo Fashion Council.

All new pieces will be shown at each show, Hayes said. “I don’t play when it comes to these markets. I will always show something new and fresh for fashion week,” he said.

Haynes, a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, was recently appointed second vice chairman of the Tokyo Fashion Council — marking a milestone as the first African American to be acknowledged as a leader in the Japanese fashion industry. “This showcase will be my first introduction on the board of directors,” he said. Hayne’s international teams will consist of models, production staff and beauty experts.

The JUS10H brand features “upcycled” menswear and women’s ready-to-wear. JUS10H is characterized by use of vibrant colors, patchwork designs, textured fabrics, precise cuts, and attractive silhouettes. Recently, Haynes’ work was showcased on four NYC billboards on Broadway.

In June, Haynes was a guest of honor at the 8th edition Global Sustainable Fashion Week in Budapest, Hungary. Haynes’ work has also been featured in the Los Angeles and Miami fashion weeks, among other locations. His collections have appeared on the c.
