Photo: KGH Foundation Nearly $26,000 for Parkinson's care and research was raised last week at the inaugural Spirit of Hope fundraiser at Lakehouse Home Interiors. The event brought together over 100 community members, event supporters, and fashion enthusiasts for a night of mingling, fun and more. Funds raised will support the Humphreys Family Movement Disorder Clinic at Kelowna General Hospital and will help transform care for more than 2,700 people living with Parkinson’s in the region.
“Spirit of Hope was more than just a fashion event, it was a celebration of hope and kindness. We came together in the spirit of philanthropy, which is good for the community and good for the soul” said Lu Kapp, designer at Lakehouse Home Interiors. “Dr.
Wile and the neurology team at Kelowna General Hospital are doing incredible things, and we are happy to support their work with a fun, community building event that celebrates local businesses- the heart of a thriving community.” Filling the night of fun and excitement was a fashion show with runway presentations from Jigsaw Clothing, Kolu, Emmy Deveaux, Lily Blue and Peplum Co. Attendees also enjoyed cocktails and culinary magic from the Lakehouse Kitchens culinary team including Chef Travis Pye and Chef Bernard Casavant.
