New set photos have emerged showing Nicolas Cage, or rather his stunt double, fully suited up in character filming scenes for the upcoming live-action “Spider-Noir” series at Amazon Prime Video. Production on the series kicked off a few weeks back and sees Cage talking on a live-action version of Spider-Man Noir which he played in the animated “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” films. The photos, which show a comic-accurate costume, sees the character atop a car while shooting webs into the distance.
The series tells the story of an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero. Cage is tipped to be playing a new take on Peter Parker’s genetic clone, Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider, and his investigation into a death leads him to discover the Mayor is involved with crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe. Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez and Jack Huston also star in the series which is filming in Los Angeles.
