Pune: Several flyers travelling to Delhi from Pune on a SpiceJet flight in the wee hours of Sunday created a ruckus after the trip witnessed a major delay. The flight (SG 963) was supposed to take off from Pune at 3.20am.

Prior to it, the flyers had reached the airport by midnight to check in. However, faced by a delay, angry flyers wrote on X that they were given no prior intimation about the postponement. Further, many told TOI that they were made to sit in the aircraft for more than an hour.

As the flight got rescheduled repeatedly, the passengers got into a major argument with the airline staff, with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel having to intervene. Many of the travellers were concerned about missing their onward connections. The flight finally took off from Pune at 8.

30am on Sunday, over five hours after the assigned time. When contacted for comment, a spokesperson of the SpiceJet airline told TOI, "On Oct 20, SpiceJet flight SG 963 scheduled to operate from Pune to Delhi was delayed due to a technical issue. The aircraft, while taxiing to the runway, experienced a technical issue and had to return back to bay.

It departed soon after the issue was resolved. Inconvenience caused to passengers is regretted.".
