Shanghai-based convention ChinaJoy 2024 will get underway this week, and Sony has a massive booth where it’s showing off a variety of local and international titles. As expected, the platform holder has also been expanding its slate of supported, China Hero Project titles – and dark fantasy open world RPG Unending Dawn looks like one to keep an eye on. Shanghai summer Due out on PS5 and mobile, the release will be playable at the aforementioned convention all weekend, and deals with a dark fantasy world where “intangible beings emerge”, according to a Gematsu translation of the blurb.

The gameplay looks a little like Code Vein : it’s an anime, cel-shaded twist on the popular Soulslike genre. We really like the art style, and the combat looks snappy and satisfying, with stylish parries and some decent animation. Clearly it doesn’t have the budget of a major AAA production, but Sony’s China Hero Project is designed to incubate projects and help developers improve them.

We’re sure this will be a worthy addition to the PS5’s lineup when it launches in the future. [source youtube.com , via gematsu.
