Songpa-gu is hosting the "24th Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival" from September 27 to 29 at the Olympic Park Peace Square. The theme of this year's festival is "The Power of Culture Binding Hearts and Hearts," reflecting how the Baekje dynasty's cultural legacy, which spans over 2,000 years, continues to unite people across time. Songpa-gu Head Seo Kang-seok said, "As Songpa has grown into a leading tourist destination in Seoul, the Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival has also evolved.
We've designed the festival to be modern, artistic, and fun, ensuring that both residents and visitors can enjoy it together." Since 2022, the district has centered the festival's themes around "The Power of Culture," showcasing the timeless appeal of culture and art across generations. The 2022 festival, themed "The Power of Culture that Flows," was followed by "The Power of Culture Crossing the Rivers and Oceans" in 2023, featuring fashion shows, musicals, and K-pop performances.
This year, the festival will offer a wide range of performances over three days on a 55-meter LED stage, displaying the shape of Songpa's skyline. Events will feature traditional music, modern dance, drone shows, and more. Day 1: Opening Ceremony The festival will begin on Friday, September 27, from 7 to 9 p.
m. with performances by dance group HOOK and the Korea National University of Arts dance performers K-Arts. A presentation of videos and modern dance showing the interpretation of the festival's theme will be show.
