Nate Bargatze knows what his fans want: For his second trip to Saturday Night Live , the comedian dusted off his waistcoat and breeches for another skit about “Washington’s Dream.” In the return of the sketch that first debuted last November, Mikey Day, James Austin Johnson, Bowen Yang and Kenan Thompson are dressed as American Revolutionary troops as Bargatze’s George Washington inspires them to remember what they are fighting for. This time, however, he reminds them what they get to do as they create their own nation: “do our own thing with the English language.

” “I dream one day that our great nation will have a word for the number 12,” Bargatze begins. “We shall call it a dozen.” “And what other numbers will we have a word for?” asks Yang.

“None,” Bargatze deadpans. “Only 12 shall have its own word because we are free men and we will be free to spell some words two different ways.” “Which words, sir?” Day asks.

“Donut,” Bargatze replies. Or is it doughnut? Check it out above. When the skit first debuted last November, Bargatze’s Washington dreamt about “choosing our own systems of weights and measures.
