EASYJET is set to launch a new route from a tiny UK airport that will take passengers to a much-loved European city for a dirt-cheap price. Travellers can now fly via the budget airline and explore the "incredible city" for under £30. Easyjet has announced it will launch a brand-new route to Amsterdam from Southampton airport this winter.

Flights are set to start as soon as October - with flights running every Monday and Friday. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon with prices starting at just £23.99.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s country manager said: “We are delighted to be launching a new winter route from Southampton Airport to Amsterdam, providing our customers in the south of England with more choice and connectivity, whether they are travelling for business or leisure and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.” Amsterdam will be easyJet's seventh route from Southampton airport after services to Belfast and Glasgow in the UK, Geneva in Switzerland, Alicante and Faro, Portugal, the DailyEcho reports. The airport also launched fresh new flights to Bergerac and Majorca earlier this year.

It comes after easyJet announced a new route to Paris from a small UK airport for this winter . Passengers in Yorkshire will soon be able to book city breaks to the French capital, with new flights setting off from Leeds Bradford in October this year. The twice-weekly service will take off on Mondays and Fridays, from October 28 and will continue through the winter until March 28 n.
