Kody Brown spent years pushing his first three wives away in favor of his fourth and now only wife. The Sister Wives star was utterly flummoxed when all three left him in short order. Season 19 of the series has covered Meri Brown’s decision to cut ties with her former plural family, and it doesn’t seem like Kody is taking it as expected.

In a recent scene, the former polygamist claimed he “likes” Meri now, and we can’t help but wonder if he was trying to pull her back into their troubled and dysfunctional dynamic. While the former flames sat and discussed Meri Brown’s decision not to attend a family Christmas event, Kody changed directions quickly. The former polygamist told his ex-wife that he “liked” her for the first time in six years and wanted to figure out what they were to each other at that point. Meri wasn’t particularly interested in entertaining the idea of reconnecting on any level.
