A shopper furious at how she was treated at a Louis Vuitton store, returned and made staff count £73,000 in cash – then left taking the money with her. The woman had initially visited the store at StarLight Place shopping centre in Chongqing, in south western China in June. In scenes reminiscent of 1990 hit movie, Pretty Woman, she said staff were dismissive of her – directing her to last season’s rails instead of the latest arrivals, and appearing impatient and rolling their eyes when she asked to see some dresses.

The shopper, who wrote about her story on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, also claimed staff ignored her when she asked for a drink. Unimpressed with the service, she left and called Louis Vuitton’s head quarters to complain but said she received no response. Two months later, still angry, the woman decided to take revenge on the staff, reports Straitstimes.

She handed over around £73,000 of bank notes and staff spent the next two hours counting it.
