Sreenath Bhasi’s upcoming film, Pongala has generated curiosity among the fans. Written and directed by AB Binil, the film is touted to be inspired by real-life events that happened in the coastal region of Kochi, Kerala. Every update regarding the film has piqued the curiosity of the cine-goers.

Now, as per the latest updates, the shooting of the film has finally commenced. As per reports, it is set against the backdrop of Vypin Harbour, and the film narrates the story of the lives of a group of people associated with the fishing harbour. Pongala’s storyline focuses on the conflict between two groups, set against the Vypin Harbour backdrop.

The Malayalam film is inspired by historical incidents that occurred in the coastal regions of Vypin and Munambam in the past and how they affected the people living nearby. On July 18, the makers created hype by releasing a title poster which was unveiled by Fahadh Faasil on social media. The film’s tagline reads, ‘Liberation of a coast.

’ The actor also wished his best to the entire team of Pongala as well. The caption read, “Sending best wishes to AB Binil, Sreenath Bhasi, Baburaj, Bibin George, Harish Uthaman, Alencier, Roshan Basheer and the whole team of Pongala." The poster revealed a bird’s-eye view of the sea with boats anchored on the shore.

The film is backed by Donna Thomas under the banner of Global Pictures Entertainment and is written and directed by A.B. Binil.
