A university student who died after while on holiday with friends has been remembered as an “incredibly kind” and “bright” young woman. Emma Ramsay’s life was cut tragically short after she reportedly plunged from a room at Hotel Vibra District on the Spanish party island of Ibiza around 3am on Tuesday. The Scottish law student had posted numerous videos and photos on in the hours before the horror accident showing her dancing and dining with friends.

In one post, the 19-year-old said she was “obsessed with this place”, according to the BBC. Local media reports emergency services rushed to the hotel but were unable to save Ramsay. The teen’s heartbroken mum Barbara has paid tribute to her daughter online, describing her as “my best friend in the whole world”.

“I am going to miss you more than words will ever express. Rest in peace my sweet angel and sleep tight, Mummy loves you so so much,” she posted, the BBC reports. The headteacher at Ramsay’s high school, Lorna Lawson, said staff and students were “shocked and saddened at the heartbreaking news”.

“Emma was an incredibly kind, hardworking, bright and talented pupil who contributed a great deal to our school community,” she said. Friends have also shared their devastation, saying “heaven just gained the most beautiful angel”. British authorities confirmed they are supporting Ramsay’s family and have been in contact with Spanish authorities.
