[+] watch loaning program. The Detroit-based brand, Shinola, opened its first-ever hotel in the Motor City in 2019. Now, five years later, the Shinola Hotel has introduced a lending program that enables hotel guests to try out one of their signature watches.
Launched in early October, as a way to celebrate this boutique hotel’s fifth anniversary, Shinola’s new lending program is available those staying in the hotel’s suite and penthouse room categories. During their length of stay, these guests can have access to and choose from a curated collection of 10 Shinola watches. “We wanted to deepen the connection between our guests and the hotel’s namesake brand,” explained Jacob Dondzila, the hotel’s general manager.
“The program felt like a natural evolution on the heels of the fifth anniversary for Shinola Hotel, especially given how much the property was inspired by the brand.” This collection consists of unisex watches varying in size, color and style. Two of them include Shinola’s Birdy and Runwell watches, and each of these models inspired spaces within the Shinola Hotel.
