Much-loved BBC drama Sherwood is set to grace our screens once more with a second series delving deeper into the intricacies of small-town life and the haunting echoes of past events. The narrative unfolds in the fictional Nottinghamshire village, exploring the lives of its inhabitants as they wrestle with fresh mysteries and unresolved matters. James Graham returns to pen the second series of Sherwood, once again promising to tackle a range of social and political issues, as new faces join the impressive cast from the first series.

The six-episode sequel will transport us back to the fictional Nottinghamshire town of Sherwood, where the small former mining community remains marked by the divisions sparked by the 1980s miners' strike. David Morrissey reprises his role as Detective Chief Superintendent Ian St Clair, with Lesley Manville and Lorraine Ashbourne also making a comeback. They'll be joined by David Harewood, Robert Lindsay, Monica Dolan and Sharlene Whyte.
