Financial content creator and influencer Sharan Hegde, who has a sizable following on social media for his fintech content, has for the first time laid off 15% of his workforce. The layoffs are a li’l sus (as the Gen Zs would say) owing to an anonymous Reddit post doing the rounds of the internet. Per the post by a laid-off 1% Club employee claimed that the founders (Sharan Hedge and Raghav Gupta) hired over 150 people and got a luxury office in the priciest posh Mumbai location—Jogeshwari.

After such hefty investments without proper strategy in place despite being in the business of financial planning, the company not only laid off its normie staff but also VPs and AVPs. Per the Redditor, the Sharan Hegde firm also fired all the content creators and almost all graphic designers, along with 50% of the video editors. About 40 employees, most of whom moved cities for the job, were laid off.

“Doing this right after Diwali is an asshole move,” the former employee jibes.
