Shanghai Fashion Week brought the city abuzz with standout collections from Chinese designers like Xander Zhou , Office H, SHUSHU/TONG and ANGEL CHEN , as well as presence from global brands like Moncler, Vivienne Westwood , Anderson Bell and LỰU ĐẠN . Along with the Hyperoom SS25 showroom, Hypebeast hit the streets to capture the most eye-catching street style from the outside. Attendees dressed with expressive confidence, nostalgic fun and a tasteful dose of aesthetic subversion.
Outfits were layered to the max with long lines and baggy fits dominating silhouettes. For outerwear patent leather coats, washed denim jackets, and big-shouldered blazers recalled the 1990s. These bold styles were counterbalanced with delicate lace trims, ruched hems, and a huge presence of baby pink.
Still, attendees maintained an overwhelmingly punk-esque sensibility with chrome-studded accessories and clashing prints. Lighthearted surrealism seems to be a prominent sentiment with trompe l’oeil tops, oversized buckles and ribbons and ironic officewear styling. Attention-grabbing subversion of dress forms found its bravest expression through a heather gray two-piece number comprising boxing shorts with rhinestone embellishments and a cropped hoodie with American Football shoulders by Windowsen, while in another look, baggy camouflage cargos are worn with raw denim over-shorts and a Supreme hockey jersey.
