Take a little summer self-care staycation and visit your local library! As your summer schedule fills up with day trips, vacations, summer camp, swimming lessons and all manner of activities for the kids, make sure to carve out some time for yourself. Whether it is picking out a new book to read by the lake, starting that family genealogy project you have always wanted to do, finding your zen at a meditation or chair yoga class, or taking an evening off from the hustle and bustle to enjoy some music or a lecture, Seymour Library has you covered! When planning your visit to the library, don’t forget to check out our Local History Discovery Center. The HDC is usually open from 10 a.

m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesdays through Fridays, but will be closed on July 25. In addition to all of the library’s Discover Summer programs for children (storytimes, hands-on STEAM, Book to Movie Club and more!) we have brought back our adult summer reading program with a fun book bingo and a variety of programs. The library’s new spin on adult summer reading allows you to catch up on your to-be-read pile while playing a game of book bingo for a chance to win a prize.

Register for summer reading and receive a folder with a summer reading bingo card, a summer reading guide to new releases, plus a few extras inside. Complete your bingo card (five in a row) and turn it in by Sept. 20 for a chance to win a prize.
