In Leicestershire , a number of dogs are desperately seeking forever homes, with many having faced long waits. A Leicester animal rescue centre is currently at capacity as it grapples with an unprecedented number of abandoned pets , pushing its facilities to the brink. The RSPCA Woodside centre in New Parks is appealing to the public to consider adoption over purchasing pets, as it struggles to cope with the overwhelming number of animals in need of homes.

Both girls are six months old. Bariss is slightly more timid than Ayla but they are happy and playful with people they know. They can live with children over the ages of 11 and possibly another dog.

This Deerhound cross is 18 months old and only recently arrived at Woodside. Bailey is a playful boy who loves cuddles. He enjoys playing with his toys and running around a lot! Bailey needs to be kept on lead in public due to his 'chase drive' and will need an older home until he learns some manners on greeting people.

Bubbles is 10 years old and has been with the RSPCA for seven months. She has been waiting for her new home patiently and after recovering from an operation to remove a lump from her leg , she is a much happier girl. Bubbles b.
