Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has opened up about his experience in police custody following his arrest last year. Seun Kuti had turned himself in after allegedly assaulting a police officer. In a recent video, Seun Kuti shared details of his ordeal in police custody.

Basically, he stated that individuals like himself and Verydarkman do not receive favorable treatment from police. “I was kept with armed robbers, killers, and people who committed serious offenses. They pretend to keep celebrities in cell 2, but I was kept in cell 1,” he said.

Additionally, Kuti claimed that celebrities typically do not sleep in cells, instead, they are held in the officer’s office. Also, he emphasised that his experience was far from luxurious. Meanwhile, the Afrobeat musician further expressed his frustration with the music industry.
