Production has officially commenced on Amazon Prime Video’s live-action “Spider-Noir” series starring Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir from the animated “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” films. The first set photos from the set have been released over at Just Jared and show Cage filming a scene as the washed-up crime-fighter, but not in his superhero outfit. Cage’s character was reportedly “knocked over by something in the scene” as part of the filming.
The series tells the story of an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero. Rumors have emerged that Cage is playing a new take on Peter Parker’s genetic clone, Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider and his investigation into a death leads him to discover the Mayor is involved with crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe. Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez and Jack Huston also star in the series which is filming in Los Angeles.
