Pune: Passengers booked on IndiGo 's Saturday flights had a harrowing time as a server outage slowed down check-in, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded for long at airports, including that in Pune. The issue affected the airline's website too, disabling essential services such as web check-in and ticket booking. Somwar Peth resident Sahil Sayyad, who was to fly from Delhi to Pune on IndiGo flight 6E2132, told TOI that he missed his flight owing to the server issue and the resultant chaos.
"My flight was to take off at 2pm. I was at the airport at noon and proceeded for check-in. At the counter, the check-in didn't happen.
The airline staff told me that there was a technical issue and asked me to wait. I was also told that all IndiGo flights had been delayed. For two hours, I just waited for my check-in to be completed.
Once done, I completed the security check process and reached the boarding gate only to find that my flight had departed at the scheduled time. The airline has offered me a flight for Sunday morning," he said. In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said, "We are currently experiencing a temporary system slowdown across our network, affecting our website and booking system.
As a result, customers may face increased waiting time, including slower check-ins and longer queues at airports. Our airport teams are available and fully dedicated to assisting everyone to ensure a smooth journey. Be assured, we are working diligently to restore normalcy.
