The self-professed "best curry house in Bolton", Achari on Crook Street, is hoping The Bolton News readers will agree ahead of this year’s awards. Situated near Bolton town centre, the restaurant has had generations of foodies satisfying their palates in its 20-year history.

We caught up with Sanu Miah who runs the place. (Image: NQ) What’s the best thing about Achari? The food , we’re very popular and our service is consistent. We’ve got great staff who work around the clock, 90 per cent of our customers are regulars who just come back again and again because they love the food, some even as far as Oldham, they come from all over really.

Our menu is a unique menu really compared to others, we get new additions to it to keep it fresh, if something isn’t popular we will take it off. What’s the most popular dish? The best dish is our beef kala bhuna, or our southern Indian garlic, but of course the nation’s favourite, chicken tikka masala, is very good here as well. (Image: NQ) What’s the kitchen like?
