Seasalt, which has its head office on the Bickland Business Park in Falmouth, announced on Tuesday that it is considering a raft of redundancies, blaming increased tax burdens following the Chancellor's budget. The company said the move was "in order to meet the challenges presented by an ever-changing retail industry." It currently employs around 1,300 people.

The company was asked by the Packet where the proposed redundancies would be falling and how many staff would be affected. A spokesperson for Seasalt told the Packet: "As we are currently in the middle of an ongoing process, we are not at liberty to confirm numbers as I'm sure you can appreciate, supporting our employees.
