Work installing the 501-metre long 2.2m diameter steel-reinforced super sewer in Perth's Tay Street and Shore Road began in June 2023 with the £107 million project scheduled to be completed next spring.

And Scottish Water was keen to leave a lasting legacy on Tay Street after lengthy disruption to businesses and local residents. The public water supplier for Scotland has sponsored two flower planters at either side of the Tay Street side of the Queen's Bridge and a flowerbed on the North of Tay street. There are also plans to do up two flowerbeds on the South end of the street which Beautiful Perth was unable to access due to the road closures during works.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Water said: "We have been really pleased to work with Beautiful Perth to be able to give something back to the community. It's been fantastic. "We're hoping to have a volunteer day where volunteers from Scottish Water and Caledonia Water Alliance will help plant up the two flowerbeds.
