They were all set to be aboard LoganAir flight LM344 from Stornoway, which was allegedly axed over the staffing situation at the airport. The airline issued an apology to the stranded flyers, as the CEO launched into a furious tirade against Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (HIAL). A statement posted to LoganAir’s Facebook page read: "Despite the airline providing an aircraft and crew to ensure the delayed flight could operate, it was cancelled owing to the unwillingness of the Highlands and Islands Airports Security team to remain available and present at the airport to handle the flight.
