Located in western Beijing's Shijingshan District, Shougang No.1 Blast Furnace - SoReal Science Fiction Paradise stands as one of the world's first fully immersive space exploration-themed sci-fi complexes, and leverages "5G+XR" technology to revive a century-old historic heritage site. Featuring Chinese sci-fi narratives, SoReal integrates a wide array of cutting-edge innovative technologies including 5G, AI, AR, VR, MR, cloud computing, digital twins, large-scale spatial positioning, holographic imaging, and 3D projection.
It integrates culture, technology, entertainment, and consumption, creating immersive cultural tourism experiences and injecting fresh vitality into Shougang Park – one of the venues for the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services. Officially open to the public in February, SoReal – with a construction area of approximately 20,000 square meters – serves as a multifunctional complex that combines cultural exhibitions, e-sports competitions, performance, and art shows. The venue was selected as one of the first batch of "5G Smart Tourism" application pilot programs by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China last year.
