Ladybridge High School celebrated a record year on GCSE results day. Headteacher Paddy Russell said: "We are delighted with the achievements of our 2024 leavers. "This year group have achieved higher levels of academic progress than any cohort at Ladybridge since the current progress measures were introduced.

"The steady improvement that we have seen over recent years gives us great hope for the future. "The 2024 leavers have faced so many challenges during their time at Ladybridge and have shown remarkable resilience and commitment. I was particularly impressed by their study habits during the build up to the exam season and the way they supported one another with their learning.

"Many of them also attended the D6 study groups on a Saturday, which this year ran for almost the whole year. The learners who did this achieved way above expectations based on their starting points. "This group of young people leave here with the grades to open doors and the skills to do well once they reach their next destination.

We wish them all the very best with the challenges ahead.".
