Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday ousted Savitri Jindal, India's richest woman and a party leader, for six years for contesting the Haryana assembly polls as an independent from Hisar against the party decision. Along with Jindal, BJP's Haryana unit also expelled three other leaders for fighting polls against party candidates. The move came amid the ongoing polling for the one-phases Haryana elections today.

Gautam Sardana, Tarun Jain and Amit Grover - are three leaders who were suspended along with Jindal. Notably, all the candidates represent the Hisar Assembly segment. Savitri Jindal is the mother of BJP MP Naveen Jindal and wife of late industrialist OP Jindal.

She is contesting the assembly election against Haryana Minister Kamal Gupta. Earlier today, she reached a polling booth and cast her vote with her daughter. "I have cast my vote. This is the election of the people of Hisar, everyone should vote. I will try to make Hisar beautiful and developed," Jindal said after casting her vote.
