Saturday Kitchen pay tribute to Dave Myers Matt Tebbutt has been a staple on Saturday Kitchen for eight years, charming viewers each weekend with his culinary expertise and easy-going nature. Yet, he confesses that live TV comes with its own set of challenges. In an intimate chat, the affable 50 year old chef divulged details about the most testing times on the show, and his strategies for handling on-air problems.

The chef shared the emotional difficulty he faces when paying tribute to late colleagues. "Sadly, in the eight years I've been doing we've lost about seven people," Matt disclosed with honesty to The Mirror . Discussing the sombre task of honouring deceased chefs, he said, "I've done seven different obituaries for various chefs, and that's a hard one.

You can practice and practice, and then you do it, and then during the live [show], something happens. And you feel your voice gets shallow and shallower, and so it's a hard one to do. So that's always been tough.

I always get on edge." Matt also shared insights into the inner workings of what he describes as a "well-oiled machine" and the crucial advice he received to excel on air - the importance of mindful language. "You get so relaxed you forget you're on live TV," he acknowledged.
