ACTRESS Saoirse Ronan has married her long-term love Jack Lowden in a secret Scottish ceremony. The four-time Oscar nominee tied the knot with her Mary Queen of Scots co-star last weekend. The couple played the part of husband and wife in the flick where Saoirse played Mary Stuart while Jack took the role of Lord Darnley.

The pair are reported to have tied the knot themselves last weekend in a small ceremony with attendees sworn to secrecy, according to the Sunday Independent. The register of Scottish Civil Marraiges records that Saoirse Una Ronan married Jack Andrew Lowden at the Edinburgh Central Registrar’s Office. The couple already share a €2.

8m home in Islington in north London and have a puppy named Fran. Rumours of their engagement flew last July when Jack shared a photo from a group hike which pictured the Irish actress wearing an engagement ring. The Dunkirk star shared a snap from the top of the Scottish mountain Ben Vrackie with the group's hands touching the summit point.

In the photo Saoirse's hand can be seen wearing a diamond engagement ring on her ring finger. The image caused an influx of well wishes from fans who took the image as confirmation the pair were to be wed. She was also seen wearing the ring later that year in October.

The pair fuelled the rumours even further when they failed to deny they were set to be married. The couple have been private about their relationship since they were first rumoured to be dating in 2018 during the filming of Mar.
