In October, Dr. Hoody conveyed in the country. I can confidently endorse this to be the case and soundly proclaim that Sanford is making significant progress across its geographic footprint and beyond, to see this goal realized.

With regard to this installment, it is my desire to share the “why.” Over the years, I have come to identify the three most valuable assets that any one of us will ever have. These being the relationships of valued friends and family, your health and time.

These blessings are irreplaceable. First is family, keeping in mind that close friends and coworkers can frequently serve as surrogates in this fashion. These relationships help to define and reinforce our existence not only as also as part of a larger community.

For many, these relationships give life meaning. Second is our health. Far too often, we see individuals sacrificing their health for financial gain, only to spend those finances later in life in an attempt to regain what they have lost.

I suspect most who are reading this column have at one time or another taken for granted how truly magnificent it is to take a deep breath without difficulty. How it feels to move around your environment without pain or limitations to your mobility. To understand the privilege of being able to fully empty your bladder without difficulty, sleep through the night, maintain an intact memory and the ability to speak, or have a daily routine that doesn’t include taking multiple medications.
