A sandwich shop in St. Andrews, Scotland, is considering slapping a £1 'seagull insurance' fee on all orders to combat the brazen birds that are nicking snacks right out of customers' hands. The Cheesy Toast Shack owners are fed up with footing the bill for free replacements after up to 30 incidents a day where aggressive seagulls attack patrons and pinch their grub.

The pesky problem is costing the family-run business hundreds of pounds daily, and they're at their wits' end trying to find a solution. Kate Carter-Larg, 35, co-owner of the establishment, said: "The gulls are super aggressive and actually terrifying. We are a family run business and I can't just sit and watch a sandwich get stolen and not replace it, so I'll always give another for free.

We get old women emailing us saying: 'I've nearly rolled my ankle because of seagulls', we have children crying too from it. "People will come to take photos of our sandwiches - and the minute they hold toastie up for a pic - all the seagulls dive bomb them.

People [are] left bleeding, they really are a problem." She also revealed that the seagull scourge has been getting progressively worse over the past three years. Kate and her husband Sam, 39, have been battling a seagull menace that's leaving children in tears and cu.
