Friday, August 16, 2024 San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport joins the Bay Area Explorer 5.0 Campaign, offering travelers educational AR games focused on aviation and environmental themes. Oakland International Airport (OAK) in the San Francisco Bay Area is launching innovative augmented reality games for travelers.

OAK has teamed up with Agents of Discovery®, a platform specializing in educational technology that empowers organizations to develop their own augmented reality experiences. This initiative is part of the Agents of Discovery Bay Area Explorer 5.0 Campaign, which includes various agencies throughout the Bay Area.

“The San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport team is excited to unveil this new in-terminal activity for passengers at the airport with Agents of Discovery,” says Craig Simon, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland . “It’s a fun new way for families to spend time at our airport while offering educational experiences for children.” The Bay Area Explorer 5.

0 Campaign is currently underway and will be available until September 7. To participate, anyone can download the free Agents of Discovery mobile app and take part in “Missions,” which are games available at various participating locations. Each Mission features educational “Challenges” designed to teach players about local history, culture, ecosystems, and safety.
