Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, currently receiving praise for his powerful cameo in Varun Dhawan-starrer 'Baby John', turned 59 on Friday, December 27. The 'Dabangg' Khan of Bollywood, who is named among the top actors in India cinema, continues to shine even after being a part of the entertainment industry for more than three decades. He holds a special place in the hearts of millions of his fans worldwide across all age groups.

Born on December 27, 1965, in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Salman is the son of renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma. After attending the St Stanislaus High School in Mumbai's Bandra area, he joined St Xavier’s College. However, he dropped out of college after some time and made his debut in Bollywood with the 1988 film 'Biwi Ho To Aisi' in a supporting role.

In 1989, Salman went on to make his first major appearance in Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. Since then, the actor has remained frequent in films and appeared in more than 100 projects, with many of them going on to break several box office records. Apart from his acting career, Salman is also famous as a TV presenter, producer and entrepreneur, supporting several humanitarian causes through his charity -- Being Human Foundation.
