Rylan Clark has come a long way since his days as a reality TV show contestant. The broadcaster's impressive CV includes various shows on BBC Radio Two and a host of TV programmes including Ready Steady Cook, Strictly Come Dancing : It Takes Two and Supermarket Sweep. But Rylan , who turned 36 last Friday, has experienced difficult times too since his rise to fame on The X Factor in 2012.

After winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, the star bagged a role fronting Big Brother's Bit on the Side and the show not only kickstarted his presenting career, it helped him find love. The star and former police officer turned Big Brother contestant Dan Neal fell head over heels and after Dan proposed in Paris, they wed in a star-studded bash in 2015. But Rylan later confessed to having been unfaithful in their marriage.

In 2021 Dan left the star and Rylan's mental health plummeted as a result. He took four months off work to recover and later told Matt Willis's On The Mend podcast he had made two suicide attempts during that time. Three years on, the star is in a much happier place and while he doesn't regret his time with his ex-husband, there is one thing he would change with hindsight.
