Amidst the conversation, where both Rylan and Gyles couldn't hide their enthusiasm about the sporting achievements, Gyles remarked: "We enjoyed the French experience hugely and we enjoyed all our medals, which is a fantastic achievement." To which Rylan added: "We were third in the medals table, the collective medal table." Then Gyles, considering the monarch's position over various realms, wittily proposed: "If you count the King as the head of state of this country and all the other Commonwealth countries, I think our King Charles as head of state did better than all the others!"
