Ruth Langsford has revealed an emotional hope for her son following her split from Eamonn Holmes after 14 years of marriage. Former This Morning co-stars Eamonn and Ruth, both 64, announced they'd parted ways in May, with the pair releasing a statement that revealed that their "marriage is over" and they were in the "process of divorcing". Eamonn has reportedly moved in with his new partner, Katie Alexander, who is 22 years younger and works as a BACP registered relationship counsellor.

The pair have also been spotted in Barcelona together. Meanwhile, Ruth recently opened up about what she wants out of life in a new issue of Woman & Home magazine. However, the much-loved presenter revealed that she has one particular hope for her son.

Ruth said: "Happiness. Happiness for my son, Jack. When you have children, you look at them starting out in life and just want everything to be good for them, for them to be happy and to not have their hearts broken.

" She added: "You can't guarantee any of that, but that's what I want most for Jack." Since the split, Ruth has reportedly hired a fierce divorce solicitor and recently took a cheeky swipe at her ex during an episode of ITV's Loose Women . The panellists were talking about how they approach "old pieces of tat" and if they prefer to hang on to things or simply throw them out, with Ruth revealing that she's a "clearer outer".
