AMAZONIA, Mo. - Rick Russell, 74, Amazonia, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.

He was born Sept. 14, 1950, to Robert "Bob" and Meredith (O'Callaghan) Russell, in St. Joseph.

Rick married Janet P. Sollars on Jan. 14, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She survives of the home. He is survived by his wife of 35 years; children, Rick Russell II, of Amazonia, Teresa Woosley (Drew), of Amazonia, Eric Uehlin (Krisma), of Savannah, Missouri, and Erica Mullins (Jeff), of Savannah. Rick was a proud grandfather to Denziel Russell, Jordan Woosley (Atleigh), Chris Mullins, Delanie Weitlich (John), Kendrick Uehlin (Morgan), Kiazer Russell (Heather), Kalen Russell, Bela Russell, Ella Mullins, Willow Russell, and Ryker Mullins; great-grandchildren, Emilee, Renlee, Kiazer, Brecklynn, Amelia, Breighlynn, and Ricky, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Rick is also survived by his siblings, Linda Rifenbark (Mike) and Steve Russell (Tammie); as well as several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob Russell II and Wesley Russell. Rick dedicated many years to serving the St.

Joseph community as a firefighter with Local 77. Following his firefighting career, he became an integral figure in Amazonia, serving as the mayor for over two decades. A man of diverse interests, Rick found joy in gambling, fishing, and traveling the backroads in his Viking.

As a traveler, he proudly visited 48 states, embracing the beauty and diversity of the country. Ab.
