RTÉ radio star Oliver Callan has opened up about his relationship and his delayed wedding to his husband John. It’s been a frantic year for Oliver to date, who is the host of RTÉ Radio One’s Nine O’Clock Show after Ryan Tubridy’s exit from the station. Oliver and his husband John have been together since 2012 after meeting in Charlie’s Chinese restaurant on George’s Street.

The pair went on to announce their engagement in 2018. Due to the world crashing to a halt in the early 2020s due to the COVID pandemic, Oliver and John didn’t end up getting married until Halloween in 2022, four years after getting engaged. ‘We’d been together for 10 years, but the wedding got delayed because of the pandemic.

Isn’t the line that you should have someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to? I have all of that but probably too much to do,’ he told the RTÉ Guide. When it comes to parenthood, Oliver admitted that he and John haven’t decided if they want to become parents in the future. He said: ‘That’s a conversation I’d have to have with John and, to be honest, I don’t really know how to answer that.
