Local business conglomerate, the Royal Group of Companies launched the Kingdom’s first private charter jet service during an official ceremony last week, including a maiden jet flight departing from the Phnom Penh International Airport hosting various dignitaries, stakeholders and guests. The private charter jet service will operate under the group’s subsidiary, CamJets Royal Group. During the launch ceremony on August 21, CamJets Royal Group announced its plans to operate under its own Cambodian air operator certificate (AOC).

Once into operation, the company will represent the nation’s first Cambodian-based and certified business charter specialist service. According to ch-aviation, a Swiss data service company (DaaS) focused on the international aviation industry, the demo flight which took place in last week’s official inauguration used a Challenger 3500 N996CL type aircraft. However, according to an interview by ch-aviation with the CamJets firm, the company is currently still evaluating two older generation private jets for the charter service’s full launch, including the Challenger 605s or Learjet 60XRs models.

The company said that the final decision on which aircraft the service will ultimately offer customers will be decided following upcoming investor prospect meetings. CamJets will also include a fractional ownership programme for potential investors, according to the ch-aviation report. According to the CamJets Royal Group, the company is entering the K.
