Wednesday, August 28, 2024 Royal Brunei Airlines is set to return to Indian skies after a two-decade hiatus, launching a direct flight service between Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, and Chennai, starting November 5. This marks the airline’s re-entry into India following the suspension of its Kolkata service after the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York. Founded in 1974, Royal Brunei Airlines is the national carrier of Brunei, wholly owned by the government.

The airline offers scheduled services across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and the UK. Announcing the new route on social media, the airline invited travelers to explore Chennai, describing it as a city with rich history, vibrant culture, and exquisite cuisine: “Chennai calls! Get ready to immerse yourself in a city full of rich history, vibrant culture, and mouth-watering flavours. Follow your heart to South India and discover Chennai.

” The new Chennai service will operate thrice weekly—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Tickets will be available for booking from Monday, August 26, 2024, through the airline’s website, www.flyRB.
