DRIVERS have been warned of planned closures to a major tunnel in East London this weekend which could cause significant traffic delays. The closure is taking place to allow further work to be done on a new road layout as part of the Silvertown Tunnel Project . While this means there will be a temporary closure of the southbound tunnel, the northbound tunnel will remain open with potentially diverted routes. The Silvertown Tunnel will link additional eastern routes to the Greenwich Peninsula and is set to open in 2025.
