BARRE TOWN - Basketball standouts Sophie Guarriello and Taylor Keel put on a second-half clinic on the soccer pitch Monday while leading the Spaulding girls to a 3-1 victory. Guarriello assisted Keel in the 49th and 68th minutes to help the Granite City squad hand the Green Mountain Valley School its first defeat of the season. Guarriello also scored the Tide’s opening goal for an early lead in the first half, with Emma Chapelle-Cortez notching the assist.

Mia Dolan, Kamryn Soffen, Maria Saldi and Isabella Cecchinelli executed lockdown play defensively for the Tide and teammate Rory-Anne Glassford (three saves).
