The singer has six children with four previous exes – Alana Stewart, Suzannah Hourde, Kelly Emberg and Rachel Hunter. And he also shares two children with current wife Penny Lancaster.

Rod opened up about parenthood in a recent episode of Sunday with Miriam and fired a cheeky jibe at some of his exes. He was asked whether he's a different father now that he's older or if he thought he'd "always" been a good dad. Rod admitted that he'd "missed out" on two of his children's "upbringing", but he claimed that he gave his exes fair warning.

Rod said: "I think most dads think they've made mistakes. I mean, my big mistake was I spent a lot of time on the road away from home, you know, in the late 70s, early 80s." He continued: "So I sort of missed out on Kim and Sean's upbringing.

I've since adjusted that now. You know, I spend a lot of time at home with the kids, but you can't stop me from going out on tour. "This is what I say to their mothers.
