Friday, September 27, 2024 ROBINSON and TUI MAGIC LIFE are setting a new standard in combining hotel operations with environmental responsibility through the introduction of a digital opt-out service for room cleaning. This innovative initiative encourages guests to participate in sustainability efforts by opting out of daily room cleaning with just a few taps on the brands’ apps, making it easier for travelers to contribute to environmental protection during their stay. The early results following a brief pilot phase are already impressive.
Across all participating ROBINSON and TUI MAGIC LIFE clubs, over 9,500 room cleaning services have been canceled via the app. This shift has led to the conservation of approximately 191,000 liters of water and reduced the use of detergents, with an estimated savings of 20 liters of water and 25 milliliters of detergent per room cleaning. Since its full rollout in August 2024, the digital opt-out service has been implemented in 36 of the 40 ROBINSON and TUI MAGIC LIFE clubs, marking a significant stride in the brands’ efforts to reduce their ecological footprint.
The remaining four clubs are expected to integrate this feature by the end of the year, further cementing the company’s commitment to sustainability and resource conservation. This initiative not only underscores the brands’ dedication to responsible tourism but also highlights the role that guests can play in creating a more sustainable travel experience. By leveraging te.
