It stars Robert Pattinson as Mickey, a human who signs on as a disposable member of an expedition to explore an ice planet.

The catch here is that every time Mickey dies, he’ll be revived as a clone with majority of his memories restored. The trailer below sees Pattinson’s Mickey getting his arm chopped off, being thrown into a vat of lava and shot at, fighting off a clone and being trampled by an alien species. As the trailer – and film title – suggests, Mickey dies 16 times before his 17th reincarnation decides he’s finally done dying and being replaced by clones.

Mickey 17 will mark Joon-ho’s first film effort since 2019’s universally lauded Parasite , which took home Best Picture at the Academy Awards the following year.
